#RadChat – Radical Practice 101
February 6, 2025
8:00 PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Organized by the Social Welfare Action Alliance (SWAA)
This event will not be recorded.
Radical practice addresses the structural causes of human suffering and works to dismantle those structures that affect us all. This #RadChat will explore how we can engage in radical practice, asking people to share ideas and experiences that have worked for them. This month we’ll discuss what radical practice means in general and specifically at this moment in time. We’ll reflect on how our professional responsibilities may be affected by anticipated harmful policies and practices, and share resources and action plans to ensure we sustain momentum in radical social work.
- How will the second Trump administration affect social work and the people we work with? What do we need to do?
- What resources can you share with others?
- How do we talk about what is going on? How do we determine who to talk to?
- How can supervisors support their workers and their interns?
